Project Statement

I believe art is an outlet for the soul which is why I have learned to express myself through it. Although I focus more on digital painting, animation has become another way to bring my drawings to life. In this film, I wanted to divert from the classic dialogue and create a narrative with little to no words. While I wished to animate something light-hearted, I steered towards the idea of creating something more realistic- the topic of learning to cope with a loss. Over the years, I have come to realize how many struggle with mental health, and with this I hoped to touch on that subject without giving too much away.

Project Statement

Art creates a path of endless creative possibilities that myself or others have the power to navigate and explore. Although art is very beautiful, it also confuses me. Like the title “Puzzled,” my brain felt muddled throughout my journey of creating my piece because art is not easy and I never know if what I’m doing is correct. Although I try to be carefree in my film and avoid deeper meanings if viewers want to connect to it, then feel free to do so. I’ve also gone in the direction of having no dialogue because that’s what I felt fit for this story and project. This film centers around a young girl who melts through her world and awakens in an unfamiliar environment. Disoriented and confused, her mission is to find a way out of it all. She faces obstacles and discovers new things along the way. I hope others join the character in her mission through the film.

Project Statement

My project was created from the idea of creating a traditional animation pilot with the use of digital animation made entirely of the software program called Krita. This animated capstone is a limited storytelling with a series of vignettes to catch the spirit and slapstick comedies inspired by older generations of cartoons. In this case, the key milestones are to showcase the interactions and the dynamics of two characters and the outcome of their interplay. Major constraints involved the use of frame-by-frame animation and the limit of background to not overstimulate and distract from the main aspect of the vignettes between the characters. This was resolved by having to create simple backgrounds and outline the characters to not blend, this helps to create the style that makes sense in this world to achieve the elements of dark humor to make this project possible.

Project Statement

After 8 years and the year of my graduation I was able to marry my incredible wife. Soon after my graduation my wife and I will be starting our own video game development company named Chamberlain Games. We have already started development on souls-like game and hope to release a demo in the next few years. I have always loved video games so it is not a shock to many that I am now about to go into the video game industry.

These days a good gaming company is hard to come by amongst all the sexual harrassment and scandels that run rampant amongst most major gaming companies now a days. Chamberlain Games will be our way of trying to change the horrible look gaming companies have gotten recently, by being a truly family orientated company.

Project Statement

The purpose of this project was to showcase my 3D abilities through environmental storytelling. I decided to set my project in a stylized fantasy setting which allowed me to create unique and interesting props. I wanted to have a whimsical atmosphere while keeping a mysterious tone as you are going through each room. The props show the inhabitants adventures while giving hints to what kind of world this place is.

Project Statement

My name is Ricardo Martinez I am a stop motion animator as it is my favorite medium and form of animation. I do enjoy rotoscoping but with stop motion what I love is the total control over the figures/puppets as you control the next movement as well creating certain scenes and settings. When I was creating my animation Primal Hunt, I wanted to show both my creativity in creating sets, the puppets as well clothing, and with pushing the limits with what have available on hand. The story I wanted to present is an adventure story with a master and apprentice hunting a creature in the woods and wanted to show that sometimes you have to step up in situations even if you feel the odds are not in your favor as I do want the viewer to think that if a situation occurs am I ready to take this leap into action even if you feel you are all on your own. This animation is dedicated to my mother Emilia Hernandez who will always be with me.

Project Statement

My name is Ricardo Romero, a Native American and Hispanic artist born and currently residing in Los Angeles, California. Art as a career choice started in the middle of high school, specifically towards animation. I have a larger focus on characters, what they feel, what they do, and why they are who they are. I like to reflect those thoughts and emotions through an animated space and do storytelling in new and interesting ways. "Intrapersonal" shows what I mean and says even more.

Intrapersonal means within oneself.

Interpersonal means relating between people.

Project Statement

I’m Vanessa Salas, an animator and artist who best considers herself a writer first but enjoys the art medium very much. Presenting my story in a visual format was a learning process but Iím glad I came to learn a new medium in which to tell stories. Penguin at a Time deals with a young college student failing a calculus exam and feeling depressed. Her friend reminds her what she really likes to do with a simple magical bubble wand. This film was based on my own personal experience during the first year of college as a Computer Science major. After some advice, I took the risk and entered the Fine Arts college. Iím happy to have been able to study and explore the many roots within art field. I hope to learn more in the future.

Project Statement

I started with the idea that I wanted to make a 3D animation about something that is, unfortunately, felt by many people over the past few years: the feeling of not having a place in this world. So many people feel like they don’t belong, like they don’t “fit in” anywhere. The feeling of being unwanted, that the world didn’t accommodate for your existence, is demoralizing. However, all is not lost, because when one can’t find their place in the world, one must create that place themselves.

Project Statement

Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that affects how people see the world. It affects each person differently. Children with autism face different challenges every day. Challenges like Noise, light, touch sensitivity, Impulsivity (acting without thinking). Repetitive movements such as rocking, spinning, hand flapping. Growing up, I've always enjoyed drawing. Although I enjoy 3rd animation, 2D was my first choice when creating my first short film. I'm hoping that through my prject, I can help educate others, and help spread
