The exhibition "Words Uncaged" curated by Mika Cho and Valerie Bower (June 1- June 30, 2018 Exhibition @ Cal State LA Fine Arts Gallery) with the Symposium, Re-Enter, Re-Think, Re-Store: Reforming Our Prisons & Healing Our Community through Art, Dialogue & Tech” organized by Roy Bidan includes displays of works and creative documentation of the lives of incarcerated artists, juvenile detention students, and Sister Inmate and Born X Raised groups. The project includes a symposium panel, performance, and presentations of topics related to the project. In addition, the exhibition is gratified to offer the works of such artists as F. Scott Shafer, Estevan Oriol, and MEAR ONE who have recorded various aspects of prisoners' lives.
